                                                                              Homophobia:  A Consequence of Islamophobia
Islamophobia
(ie. Islam+phobia, "fear") According to the definition in the Wikipedia, Islamophobia is "prejudice against, or an irrational fear of Islam or
Muslims. The term seems to date back to the late 1980s, but came into common usage after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States to refer to
types of political dialogue that appeared prejudicially resistant to pro-Muslims arguments. In 1997, the British Runnymede Trust defined Islamophobia as the
"dread or hatred of Islam and therefore, to the fear and dislike of all Muslims," stating that it also refers to the practice of discriminating against Muslims by
excluding them from the economic, social, and public life of the nation. It includes the perception that Islam has no values in common with other cultures, is
inferior to the West and is a violent political ideology rather than a religion. Steps were taken in the UK toward official acceptance of the term in January 2001
at the "Stockholm International Forum on Combating Intolerance", where Islamophobia was recognized as a form of intolerance alongside Xenophobia and Anti-
Semitism."

May Allah Reward the Fair Journalists

Four recent scandals involving public figures accused of running down minorities show that any offensive commentary on followers of Islam incurs no real
consequences. In America, you can’t rag the Jews publicly and you can’t rag the blacks publicly. It’s taboo – you lose your job, you have to quit the campaign
if you say bad things about Jews or blacks – even if what you say is, you know, true.

The Hajj Season: Duties and Significance

It is Allah's wisdom that Millions of People gather annually in Makka to perform pilgrimage during the first ten days of Zul-Hajjah. For this year, the first ten start
from the 7th to the 16th of November. For those who perform Hajj according to the Sunnah, the sins of their past would be forgiven. They would return from
Hajj as pure (from sins) as they were the day their mothers born them. For others who could not make it to Hajj at any given year, Allah SWT has given them a
chance to perform righteous deeds during the Hajj season (the first ten days of Zul-Hajjah). One of the greatest rewards they could receive is the obliteration
of their sins of the past year and those they have already committed in the present year.
